I am participating in Journal52 which is a Weekly Art Journal Facebook group. Every week the group puts out a "prompt" for all members to use as a guide to create art based on that prompt. We interpret this prompt as we feel. There is no pressure to share or even do the prompt. It is purely a stimulus to encourage you to create and expand your artistic capabilities as you see fit. It has been a wonderful experience for me. I find that I am creating with less restraint and with less "overthinking". Does that make sense to you? I am using a lot more color and my pieces seem much lighter. This is the first time I have ever kept an art journal. In any case, I will try to share some of my Journal52 art work here. You can go to Facebook and join in at any time. Do not feel you have to catch up; just jump in and have fun. It is for you.
Journal52 Week01
Week 1's prompt was Pathways. I chose an image from a catalog, gessoed the page, inked with Distress Ink and used many wintry die cuts. Of course there had to be some bling to serve as ice crystals. Because this is my first art "Journal" I feel the need to include words of some sort.
